Gordon Goldsberry

Gordon Goldsberry
Oaks' First baseman

Gordon Goldsberry was acquired by the Oakland Oaks of the Pacific Coast League on option from the Chicago White Sox in 1949. The deal also sent popular outfielder and first baseman George Metkovich to the White Sox. Gordy was a classy fielder and a classy dresser. He was replaced in midseason, however, by Dick Kryoski, and later went on the play in the majors.
