From the time the Pacific Coast League was formed in 1903, until the ball park at Riverside and Broadway was torn down in 1964, Sacramento won the pennant only once. That was in 1942. The story of that pennant victory is still being told today. Needing to win all five of their last games, the Solons overcame all obstacles to capture the flag.
