An Oakland native, Charlie Beamon attended McClymonds High School. Acquired by the Oaks in 1955, he was optioned to Stockton in mid-season, where he built up an unbeatable record of 16-0 with an ERA of 1.36. He then returned to Oakland, where he pitched 2-8, with a 4.79 ERA.
