Local boy MEL DUEZABOU, 27, is a former Fremont High and University of California diamond star. Mel, Oak property since '41, hit .323 for Oklahoma City in '46. Whacked apple for .301 with the Acorns in '42, .296 with the Oaks in '41, and .386 with Idaho Falls in '40.

"Dizz" was born in Oakland in 1919 of French-Portuguese descent, and graduated with an A.B. degree from the University of California. Throughout his schooling he won many letters and honors in sports. Throws and bats right.

First time at bat in his first professional game he hit a triple when he was with Idaho Falls Pioneers in 1940. He has brown hair and eyes, is 5' 9" and weighs 180 lbs.
