Stocky Tony Sabol, 28, came to the Oaks last season from the New York Yankee chain. He hit .328 for Kansas City in the American Association in 1945. Tony, a Pennsylvanian, performed at second base, shortstop and even did some outfielding for the Acorns in ‘46. He banged out 74 hits for a batting mark of .247.
Eleven years in professional ball. He has infielded for Oneonta, Canadian-American League and Williamsport, Eastern League. A very fast runner and a great hustler. Good man for a ball club's morale. A ball players' ball player. Believes Ted Williams is the top player in baseball. Enjoys hunting, fishing and basketball.
