JOE HARRIS
Senators Outfielder, 1929
Joseph "Moon" Harris, from Plum Borough, Pennsylvania, began his major leaague baseball career with the New York Yankees in 1914. In 1917 and 1919, he played for the Cleveland Indians, and beginning in 1922 he played four seasons for the Boston Red Sox. He was traded to the Washington Senators in 1925, and finished out his major league career with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Brooklyn Robins of the National League in 1927 and 1928. The following year, at the age of 38, he found himself in Pacific Coast League, playing in the outfield for the Sacramento Senators. He played in a total of 54 games for Sacramento, and came to bat 190 times, hitting .342 for the season.
